Since Go was released into the world, we’ve heard a lot of questions from you about how Sleep Mode works. We’re happy to clear things up. Consider this your definitive sleep guide, with no sheep-counting required.

How do I put my Go into Sleep Mode?

  • Hold and continue to hold the power button.
  • Wait for the signal rings and battery LED to turn off.
  • Release the power button.
  • Sleep light will start to ‘breathe’ white

That’s it. You’ve done it. To power back on, just hold down the power button until the battery indicator turns back on.

I figured out how to turn on Sleep Mode. How do I just turn Karma Go off?

Great question. Keep holding the power button down past where you would normally see the device go into Sleep Mode. You’ll know it’s off when you see the signal rings and battery light flash and then go completely dark.

What’s the advantage of Sleep Mode vs. just turning Go off?

Putting your Go into Sleep Mode will help you save on battery, and gives you the advantage of quickly waking up your Go if and when you need to use it. Booting up your Go from "off" is going to take you about 30 seconds or so, whereas waking it up from sleep is almost instantaneous. You can get about 6 days worth of battery life when your Go is in Sleep Mode.

Can people still connect to my Go in Sleep Mode?

Nope. You’ll be disconnected from the internet when you activate Sleep Mode, and so will any other friends or strangers (we’ll call them friends you haven’t met yet) who are using your device to get online.

Will my Go automatically go into Sleep Mode?

No. As of right now, you can only manually put Go to sleep. This way, you don’t have to worry about it going to sleep if that’s not what you intended.

How do I know if my Go is charging in Sleep Mode?

Normally, when your Go is charging, you'll see the red battery indicator light pulsing. In Sleep Mode, you won't see that battery light, just the sleep light pulsing. If you're worried that your Go is plugged in but isn't charging, take it out of Sleep Mode for a moment to check on the red light. If the red light is pulsing, you're good to go.
